The Lac Surprise gold property represents the amalgamation of the former Lac Surprise, Hazeur and Lespinay gold properties.
- Lac Surprise consists of 889 claims, 50,776 hectares.
- Located near the northeastern end of the Abitibi greenstone belt.
- Underlain by rocks of the Caopatina- Desmaraisville belt.
- Mafic metavolcanic rocks and their intrusive equivalents of the Obatagamau Formation.
- Hazeur and Surprise tonalite to granodiorite plutons are located to the north, northeast and southeast of the properties.
2010
- Completed an overburden sampling program over the Lac Surprise property, 249 samples collected and submitted for gold grain and geochemical analysis.
- Eighty-eight line kilometers cut to complete two ground geophysical surveys over the Lac Surprise property (induced polarization [IP] and magnetic surveys).
- Completed an overburden sampling program, 254 overburden samples collected and submitted for gold grain and geochemical analysis.
2011
- An additional 403 overburden samples collected during the summer exploration season and have been submitted for heavy mineral and geochemical analysis.
Outlook
- Integrate and assess all data derived from last year’s overburden sampling program and the 2011 second quarter overburden sampling program to identify diamond drill targets; and
- Reconciliation of mineral claim holdings on completion of overburden gold grain and geochemical analysis.
