Executive Bios


Thomas F. Morris - President, CEO and Director

Thomas F. Morris (President, CEO and Director) is a registered, Professional Geoscientist with over 26 years experience of managing a variety of exploration activities and programs. Dr. Morris joined Superior Diamonds Corp. in 2002 as a Project Manager, responsible for managing Superior’s diamond exploration programs in Northwestern Ontario. In 2005, Dr. Morris was appointed Vice President Exploration and was subsequently appointed President and CEO in July 2007. At this time, Dr. Morris refocused the Company’s exploration from diamonds to gold, rebranded and renamed the Company Northern Superior Resources Inc. Dr. Morris has managed, designed and implemented exploration programs and geologic studies for University, Government and exploration companies, including: the Geological Survey of Canada, Alberta Research Council, Ontario Geological Survey, University of Alberta, University of Western Ontario, Lake Shore Gold Corp. and Aurora Platinum. Dr. Morris received his PhD. (Earth Sciences) from the University of Alberta in 1988. Dr. Morris is currently President of the Sudbury Chapter, Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada, is a member of the Ontario Prospectors Association board of directors, and sits on the Ontario Government , Ministers Mining Act Advisory Committee.

Casey M. Hetman – Vice President Exploration

Casey M. Hetman is a Professional Geoscientist registered in Ontario and British Columbia with 16 years of mineral exploration and evaluation experience. Mr. Hetman worked for Monopros / De Beers Canada for approximately 10 years where he was involved in several exploration, evaluation and resource development programs throughout Canada. This included work at Gahcho Kué, Victor and Fort à la Corne. Mr. Hetman then worked for Mineral Services Canada for more than 5 years as a Principal Geoscientist and Director of Consulting Services. There he was responsible for the development and management of a technical team of geoscientists specializing in the development of geological models used for resource development and mine planning activities throughout Canada and Africa. In June of 2011 he joined Northern Superior Resources as Chief Geologist responsible for exploration activities in the north western Superior Province. Mr. Hetman holds an M.Sc. (Geology) and B.Sc. Hons. (Geology Specialist) from the University of Toronto.

Scott R.G. Parsons - VP Corporate Development

Scott Parsons is a registered Professional Geoscientist in Ontario, Quebec, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut. Mr. Parsons joined Northern Superior Resources Inc. (former Superior Diamonds Corp.) in 2005 as a Project Geologist where he managed, designed, and executed diamond and gold exploration programs across Ontario and Quebec. Mr. Parsons then worked as a Resource Development Geologist with BHP Billiton Canada Inc. where he played an essential role in evaluating, developing, and integrating mineral resources and reserves into the mine plan. Mr. Parsons holds an M.Sc. (Geology) and B.Sc. Hons. (Geology) from The University of Western Ontario, and is currently obtaining his MBA from Athabasca University.

Daniel A. Rothberg - Corporate Secretary

Mr. Daniel Rothberg is a partner at the Toronto office of Miller Thomson LLP, one of Canada’s largest national law firms. In 1989 Mr. Rothberg graduated with a B.Comm (Hons) from the University of Manitoba majoring in finance and earned his LLB from the University of British Columbia in 2003. Mr. Rothberg has practiced corporate finance and securities law with a focus on the resource sector for over 18 years, both in Vancouver and Toronto and has been legal counsel to the Company since 2008.

Aris Morfopoulos - Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Aris Morfopoulos is a self-employed accountant and businessman with over 25 years of corporate management experience. For the past 15 years he has worked on a consulting basis in various executive capacities in mineral exploration, Internet domain industry, and public company administration. He has served as a director or officer of several publicly listed companies in the past 15 years and is currently the C.F.O. of three other TSX Venture-listed mineral exploration companies. In 1999 he was a founding partner and executive of NamesDirect.com, a successful Internet domain registration company. He continues to work as a corporate consultant in the Internet domain registration industry. Mr. Morfopoulos is 55 years old and has a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from the University of Manitoba (1975).
